Critics say Hartford's newest restaurant is "off the hook". It is a blend of cool urban chic and New England Fish Camp. Enjoy a Maine lobster roll and some fried clams at the bar or settle in to our stylish dining room and order up a baked stuffed lobster or a seared pepper crusted Tuna. We also feature a gorgonzola crusted NY Strip and other non- seafood options so everyone in your party will be a happy camper.

The look:
Cool urban chic mixed with fish camp (sounds crazy-but it works) beautiful colors, rich teak wood and large curved booths. The lively bar area incorporates a large photograph that is sure to make you smile. (It is a must see)

The Scene:
If you remember Pastis - forget it! This place has been completely redesigned. The vibe is much more downtown "big city" restaurant. The place seems to accommodate everyone form pre-theater dining crowds to cool twenty somethings eating Lobster corndogs at the bar. It is like having great seafood from the shoreline but in a grown up atmosphere. (no "fish net" décor here)

The Food:
The biggest shrimp I've ever seen, served with a cool tomato-horseradish sorbet. The mussel and clam "Hot Pot' (see photo) is nicely presented in a commercial sauce pot. Other notable appetizers include the chili glazed calamari, blue crab and artichoke dip and seared Ahi tuna. Fish is the focus here so I'd try the Campfire Trout, Whole Grilled Striped Bass and the Cedar Planked Salmon.

On the lighter side, the Maine Lobster Roll and fried seafood combos are as authentic as you would get at your favorite seaside shack. There are some great non-seafood options like a roast chicken, Gorgonzola crusted NY Strip and a chicken pasta-so everyone in your group will be a happy camper.

The Deal:
$7-10 at lunch (most salads and sandwiches)
soups & salads-$5-$8; appetizers $9-12;
fried seafood dinners $9-20 other entrees $19-35

Happy Hour:
1/2 priced Martinis and most appetizers at
Happy Hour (4:30 - 6:00 M-F)

The Summary:
Sally's Fish Camp seems to have the best of both worlds. They have succeeded in combining everything you like about summer into an exciting downtown experience. Try it once and you'll be hooked.
